I am taking back control over lunch

I shared this with my meal plan and prep workshop this morning and thought you all could benefit too!

my kids didnt used to eat great lunches. they just wanted sugary carb loaded junk food. so we started with adding in real fruits instead of fruit snacks. I stopped buying chips and gave them whole grain crackers. then took out the crackers for veggies. snap peas are a great crunch alternative! I even put lettuce on their turkey and provolone sandwich so they get more veggies in.

I changed the bread from white to wheat to whole grain. and the best thing ever is daily sunshine. it’s a whole serving of fruits and veggies and protein. (ask me on how to get it!).

is it easy at first? heck no! it’s getting the kids to like the foods but I make them a part of the process to trying new things. letting them choose what they want from the choices I give them (not just what they want because they will choose junk everytime). start slow and do 1 thing at a time.

my son now asks for cucumbers and snap peas in his lunches! win for mom!

what do your kids love that is super great for them?
