I craved living a life of freedom.
“I WISH I could do that.”
“You’re so LUCKY.”
“I could NEVER do what you do.”
“She’s probably making it all up. I bet she’s not actually that happy/successful/fulfilled.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Yep. I see you. I’m talking to you
I was you.
I watched other people crush their goals and live their dream lives and always told myself I could never do that because of xyz.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I convinced myself that they were special, or they got lucky, or “in at the right time”. And yes, I even talked shit about people I saw living out their dreams not because of anything they did, but because I was JEALOUS.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I wanted to feel fulfilled.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I craved living a life of freedom.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And what pissed me off the most wasn’t that these people could do it and I couldn’t. Or that these people had something I didn’t. Or that that girl had a unicorn horn sticking out of her head and I was just … me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It was that I didn’t have the freaking guts to go for it.
That’s the ONE THING that sets the unsuccessful people apart from the successful people. The successful people wake up one day, and decide they will be successful, no matter what it takes.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I see you. And I hear your excuses LOUD AND PROUD as to why you “cant do this” too. You are preaching to the dang choir.
But I want you to know, I’ll be here when you’re ready.
Your girl isn’t going anywhere but all the way to the top.. and either you’re coming with, or I’ll send you a postcard when I get there.
